A man has been arrested after police found a large cannabis grow when raiding a County Durham address this week.

Durham Police have confirmed they executed a warrant at Shotton Colliery this week where they found the plants inside the address.

They added the man occupying the building was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis.

Police confirmed he remains in custody and is awaiting sentencing.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: “This week Peterlee NPT have executed a warrant at Shotton Colliery, inside the address officers located a large cannabis grow.

“The occupant of the address was subsequently arrested for the production of cannabis, and he remains in custody awaiting sentencing.”
